True Grit

After a busy week we finally managed to cram in a late night viewing of True Grit.

For anyone in the mood to grab a night at the flicks, we give this film a massive thumbs up!

We thought it was well acted and staged … certainly worth a see! Jeff Bridges was fantastic - as usual - and young Hailee Steinfeld as Mattie was amazing!



Also some fab wardrobe moments - Keep an eye out for the medicine man dressed in a bear skin and the rather groovy curly fur sheepskin chaps featured later on in a show down!

Talking of cowboy style really makes me want to dig out my floral neckerchief and bash about in some scruffed up boots!

We've been catching the re-run of Mad Men Season 4....

Worth tuning in just for the amazing outfits!

The stylish period drama set in 1960s features the goings on of a New York ad agency & the stereotypes of the day....

Who can resist those delightful vintage looks!

Hecky Po! Loadsa snow!

Opened the curtains this morning and crikey! A sheet of white… A full on blizzard a little over a month before Spring officially begins is a trifle worrying.. I’m sure summer was summer, and winter was winter when I was youngster.. What is going on?  

Anyway.. got togged up.. Pulled the woollens from the wardrobe and set off for the Saturday posting session..

The park en route was full of the white stuff.. A good excuse for a tad of juvenile frolicking!x

We're thinking of catching the new Coen Brothers film True Grit at the City Screen Picturehouse in York....which reminds me of listening to this classic that always brings a smile....Harry McClintock - The Big Rock Candy Mountain....first recorded in 1928 - this video is original footage of the man himself.....the song features on the soundtrack to another Coen Brothers favourite 'O Brother, Where Art Thou?'

Always been a sucker for a country & western noir landscape with a finely tuned soundtrack to boot....
